Faith in one’s self – My Opinion

“My India, the India eternal” it is the name of the book which I have read recently. Swami Vivekananda enlightened useful things very well in this book. A topic has attracted me a lot in this book. That is “Faith in one’s Self.” I think of it has not only attracted me but also will attract everyone.

I would like to share my opinion of “Faith in one’s Self” and words of Swami Vivekananda with you. Swami Vivekananda very well described regarding “Faith in one’s Self” in this book. Many things have been described by Vivekananda under this topic but I am sharing few points of it only here.

They are:

  • Faith
  • Agree
  • Imitate
  • Negative thinking

Faith:

Every person should have faith on themselves. Regarding it Swami Vivekananda says that if you have faith on three hundred millions of mythological Gods and foreigner’s Gods, still have no faith on yourselves, there is no salvation for you. It is absolutely correct which was said by Vivekananda. `

Because, if a person does not have faith on himself what he can do having faith on all the Gods. Nothing, nothing he can do. You can do anything whoever you are when you have faith on yourselves. Regarding faith in ourselves Swami Vivekananda has remained one thing in this book, “Our old religions said that who didn’t have faith on himself he was atheist. Our new religions says that who doesn’t have faith on himself he is atheist.” What does it mean? It means every person should have faith. If you don’t have, you are an atheist.

In this book Vivekananda has given an advice to youngsters. That is to be bold.

I am not a great person to tell morals words to others but I am a human being, as a human being I would like to give you a suggestion that is I am suggesting you to have faith on yourself.

Agree:
We should run after as Vivekananda said because which words were said by him in this point they were absolutely correct. Vivekananda said, “Agree whatever mistakes you did, therefore, you do not repeat them later in future.” Yes, it is correct, isn’t it? As Vivekananda said if we revise our mistakes, we can know what we have done. We, by doing that, are getting a chance for not to repeat mistakes what we have done in past. That is why I said every person should run after this point which was said by Vivekananda. It is the remarkable thing here.

Imitate:
Vivekananda said in this book that who imitates others, he is a coward. According to me also who imitates others he is cowardice, because he has no individuality thoughts or any that is why he is imitating others and due to that he is called as cowardice. Swami Vivekananda said, “There are many things to learn from others, we should learn them but we should not imitate. Whenever a person imitates others he will be under the thumb of others. Being under the thumb of other, he loses his individuality.” And he also said, “Who refuses to learn good things from others he is already dead”.

Learning meaning is not to imitate others. Its meaning is to observe good things from others.

I have also seen many people who always follow others and imitate as exactly as others. When I saw who imitated me I laughed inside me many times. It is very childish according to me. So according to Vivekananda said we should not imitate others but we should learn good things from others. This is the important thing which we should keep remember in our mind.

Negative thinking:
Before telling about it, I would like to tell one sentence that every person should think positively only. Whenever a person thinks negatively it effects on them very badly. So we should not think negatively, we should think positively only.

Swami Vivekananda described it with few simplest examples. They are, “If a person thinks he is a miserable, low, nothing, nothing he can be. If a person says yea yea and I am… I am, he shall be. And if a person says no no I am not I am not, that he is not.” These were very useful words by Swami Vivekananda. We will be only how we think. So think positively. And do not think negatively.

My conclusion to it: Always have faith in yourselves and learn good things from others and think positively.

There are many things and facts described by Swami Vivekananda in the book of “My India, the India eternal”. Every person should read this book. What I observed from the book of Vivekananda ‘My India, the India eternal’, I shared some of them here. I hope by reading and observing it, people can learn some good things.
